Here's how it works during a typical trivia evening, it's five rounds with 10 questions per round. Each correct answer gives your team a point, totaling a possible 50 points if you play an unbeatable game.
But the excitement doesn't end there. The NYC Trivia League adds an extra layer of competition with its bonus points system. Every day the top teams earn additional points, with teams in the most successful teams getting five bonus points while the next 15 gaining 3. Over the course of the week top 50 teams also earn bonus points which are awarded to the top 25 teams, with the best 25 receiving 10, and the following 25 receiving five.
For the calculation of your overall league score, we take the base score and change it to a 100-point score, including the bonus 15 points offered each week. In this case, a basic score, 50 points is multiplied with 85, and then the bonus points are tacked on top to increase the score to 100.
